Quarry
The initial process for deciding what quarrying sites in Staffordshire are going to be expanded or new ones created over the next ten to fifteen years has been started by the County Council.
Initial proposals from the extraction industry are for 150million tonnes in Staffordshire which would be an increase of 50% over the current levels. See them here.
Significant expansion of quarrying activity is proposed by the industry around Lichfield and Tamworth with existing sites made larger and new quarries established.
The areas around Fisherwick, Weeford, Hints, Cranebrook, Shire Oak, Wilnecote and Alrewas are affected.
Nothing is decided yet but the process offers the chance for local people to give views and opinions. Read more about this here.
It is important that you make your views known. If you want information on what is happening and how to make your views known please complete the form below. I will update you by e-mail as the process procedes.
