Some time off

Its been a busy time for what seems an eternity and, quite frankly, I’ve been pretty worn out not having found time for a decent 006.JPGholiday in the last two years.

So we took the chance, having had a three day conference cancelled, for five days away in Cornwall and now we’re back I’m going to get cracking again on posting here, a bit more regularly than I’ve managed for the last couple of months, about issues and some of what I do.

Cornwall is just tremendous. I know you can’t really mention Cornwall without talking about the Eden Project. So I have, and the only other thing I’d say about Eden is that it is as spectacular as you think it 145.JPGmay be and causes you to think about the environmental issues you perhaps wouldn’t normally think of.

I’ve never been to Cornwall before but must admit we liked it so much we wrote down the names of the local estate agents we came across with a thought to perhaps looking for a ‘bolt hole’ to disappear off to occasionally. Beautiful countryside, amazing coastlines, great locally grown produce in extraordinarily good restaurants and a real sense of pride in the place.

202.JPGAnd, getting to Cornwall County is nothing like as far as I thought it was. For some reason I’d imagined it was a good five or six hours but from here to just short of St Austell it’s only about four. An easy four at that.

When in Cornwall, you really know you are there. Almost as many Cornish flags flying as you see American ones in the States and so much is Cornwall badged, which is great. You get a real sense that 195.JPGpeople belong and are proud to. It almost feels like you’ve crossed an international border!

So I highly recommend it and, whilst I wouldn’t normally do it here, I also recommend a visit to the most amazing restaurant called Fistral Blue almost on a beach at Newquay. The most amazing food and the most stunning views and sunset!!

Good to have you back. I can also recommend Jamie Olivers restaurant in Watergate Bay near Newquay
